The Survivor of the Fittest program embodies the “Alive with Five” components of self-defense, fitness, strength, wellness, and community.

“Alive with Five”

Self-Defense

Self-defense is primarily about awareness, knowledge of body mechanics, and the understanding of what it takes to put your life above all else. We will discuss situational awareness, practice basic uses of force and proper form for delivering an effective strike, and prepare you mentally as a survivor.

 

Strength

The strength component helps participants understand the foundations of building muscle. Each week, we will review your personal best (PR) as you work towards increasing weight and strength to enhance your fitness and confidence levels. This program focuses on core strength and full-body strength conditioning and building.

 

HIIT Fitness

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) has been shown to be one of the most effective types of workouts for a wide-variety of body types. Provided in a self-competition format, our HIIT training is easy to understand and the challenge level can be modified for each individual, changing and increasing along with their fitness capabilities.

 

Wellness

“Wellness” encompasses so many things, but primarily we are focused in WARRIOR GRIT on nutrition, personal connection, recharging, and reflecting. Our Wellness Coordinator, a mental heath therapist, works with all our partners and our Community Coordinators to provide numerous options for participants to explore how they nourish their body and soul.

 

Community.

Community allows all participants and partners to share in events, bringing awareness to agencies, schools, businesses, and neighborhoods, reaching out to speak and educate others, and more. This is where we focus not just on others, but how sharing these events can help participants heal forward. We also believe that healing includes having FUN and laughter, which is why we schedule numerous “have fun to help fund” events across Southern California.
